

PINCH, Walter E. 85, of Shubenacadie passed away peacefully at his home on Crombe Road on Saturday March 17, 2012. Born in Wallbrook, Kings Co. he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Myles) Pinch. As a very young boy Walter worked in the woods for S.G. Levy and son through out the Valley and later was employed on farms in the Gasperaux Valley. He was employed for three years with F. A. Tucker on power lines in the province. He moved to Shubenacadie in the early ‘70’s and for ten years was employed at the Winston Bokma farm and then sold produce and home baking and continued to “ supervise” the farm operation across the road from the comfort of his home. Walter is survived by his Wife Norma (Starratt), sons Eugene and Leslie and a daughter Shirley (Wayne) Duggan, a brother Vernon (Joyce) of Wallbrook; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Timothy, brothers Basil, Alden and Gordon, sisters Freda, Joan, Ethel and Gertrude. Visitation and viewing will take place Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie. (2812 Hwy # 2). Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday March 21st, 2012 in the Ettinger Chapel with Bob Swan and Ross Swan officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment at Gospel Hall Cemetery, Avonport. Donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the VON, East Hants Home care, Colchester East Hants Palliative Care, War Amps of N. S. or any Charity.
