

Amy Lee Burns, age 84, of Sikeston, died October 21, 2014, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. Born March 29, 1930, to the late Frank and Amy Humes Clinton, she had been employed at J.C. Penney and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston. On September 26, 1981, in Sikeston, she married Rice Pete Burns Sr., who died on August 1, 2006.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Bell of Sikeston; one son, Rice Pete (Ann) Burns Jr., of Sikeston; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Burns of Collierville, Tenn.; and one brother, John Langston of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Nathan Bell of Bloomfield, Zach Bell and Erin Garner, both of Sikeston, Leslie Laws of Nixa, Amy Montague of Aurora, Colo., Jeffrey Burns of Cape Girardeau, Molly Watkins of Cleveland, Ohio, D.J. Burns of Seattle, Wash., and Tyler Burns of St. Louis; and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Burns; and one brother, Charles Clinton.
Visitation will be held beginning at 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Shady Acres Church of Christ, with Johnny Hester and Pat Hogan, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Nathan Bell, Zach Bell, Jeffrey Burns, D.J. Burns and Tyler Burns, and grandson-in-law, John Garner.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
