Charles Edward Williams Sr., 75, of East Prairie, died October 8, 2012, at his residence. Born February 3, 1937, in Sikeston, to the late Alvan Curtis and Annie Pearl Sullivan Williams, he had been employed as a cemetery sexton for many years. He was first married to Sally Walden Williams, and later to Dorothy Williams, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rocky A. and Michelle Williams of Dover, Tenn. and Charles E. and Julie Williams Jr. of East Prairie; one brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Darlene Williams of Charleston; and three sisters, Geraldine Niederstadt of Pueblo, Col., and Charlotte Williams and Louise Shemp, both of Olympia, Wash. Fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm Friday, October 12, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
