Dossy Gwin Nance

Dossy Gwin Nance, 65, of Sikeston, died March 24, 2014, at his home. Born September 3, 1948, in Matthews, to the late James Dowsey and Lois Lynella Johnson Nance, he was a self-employed mechanic and member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church. On September 14, 1968, in Kewanee, he married Rebecca Tidwell, who survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dossy Lynn “Dusty” and Katie Nance of Sikeston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina Sue and Doyle Vanvickle of Sikeston and Lois Christine and David Young of Morehouse; two brothers, Donnie Richard Nance of Miner and Billy J. Nance of Sikeston; and one sister, Virginia “Susie” Reynolds of Oran. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Russell, Robert Lee Russell and Michael J. Nance.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the Murray Lane Baptist Church, with Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor, officiating.
