

He was born on July 6, 1931, in Bertrand, MO to the late Harvey and Lillie Mae McKinley Jobe.
After leaving his loving home, he joined the United States Navy where he served in the Korean War from 1951-1955, two of those years aboard the USS Hancock. He earned a Medal of Honor for his bravery while serving.
After returning he married Betty Cline and they had one son together Mark who Eddie loved with all his heart. Not only did he serve his country, but Eddie also served his state as employee of MoDOT for over 35 years until his retirement in 1998.
Eddie made many friends and acquaintances. He never knew a stranger and could talk to anyone about most any topic. He loved riding motorcycles with his brothers, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a member at Cornerstone Church in Bertrand, MO where he faithfully attended in his final years most every Sunday until he could no longer drive. He never failed to ask for prayer for his son Mark. .
He is survived by his only son, Mark Jobe of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Marilyn Vanover of Sikeston, MO whom he lovingly referred to as “Sis”, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Linda Doran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud Jobe, Bill Jobe and Curtis Jobe; two sisters, Pat Hicks and Joyce Beasley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with Bro. Terry Shaver, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jobe, Steve Hicks, Todd Vanover, Chad Beasley, Cody Vanover and Lane Curtis.
Honorary pallbearers Dennis Jobe and Clint Jobe.
