Born January 13, 1956, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Otto Wayman Pratt and Dorothy Arlene Ziegenhorn Pratt.
He was a 1974 graduate of Sikeston High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He shared a devoted marriage, for 30 years, with his wife, Vickie J. Terrell Pratt, who remained his constant companion and one of his greatest blessings. Harry was a faithful member of St. Luke Church in Sikeston, Missouri. His faith grew deeper over the latter part of his life, bringing him peace and purpose.
He is survived by his children Mark Pratt of Sikeston, MO; Mandy Pratt of St. Charles, MO, Brooks (Adrienne) Pratt of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Katie Pratt of Toluca Lake, CA. He was a proud grandfather to Cody (Erika) Pratt of Kelso, MO; Nicholas Pratt of Sikeston, MO; and Addison Pratt of Cape Girardeau, MO; and great-grandchildren Beau Pratt, Kaden Pratt, and Lainey Pratt of Kelso, MO.
Surviving family also includes his brother Charles (Sue) Pratt of Sikeston, MO; sister-in-law Marian Pratt of Sikeston, MO; mother- and father-in-law Jerry and Yvette Terrell of Sikeston, MO; and sister-in-law Jamie (Bodie) Jordan of Sikeston, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayman and Dorothy Pratt, and his brother, Donald Pratt.
For more than 50 years, Harry built and renovated countless properties across Sikeston, a community he devoted his life to. He took immense pride in his craftsmanship, earning a reputation for exceptional skill. Beginning his long career with Pratt Construction alongside his father, Wayman, and brother, Donald, he later established Pratt Development, which brought him one of the greatest joys of his career, working alongside his oldest son and partner, Mark, for 35 years.
A man of generosity, Harry was an O-negative blood donor and a steadfast supporter of the American Red Cross, regularly giving the gift of life to those in need.
Harry's most cherished moments were spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He dearly loved his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Some of the things that brought him great pleasure throughout his life was spending time with family and friends on Kentucky Lake, attending grandchildren's sporting events and orchestra concerts, family dinners, birthday celebrations, flying as a licensed pilot, traveling, bowling, and he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers, watching many games with his beloved dog Louie.
Harry will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. A memorial service will follow at noon, led by Reverend David Stroud, M.D. of St. Luke Church in Sikeston, and pastor Danny Kuykendall of Christ Methodist Church in Sikeston.
Private family graveside services will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL. 33131 and/or Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center, 28 Highwood Drive, Northport, NY 11768 in memory of Harry Pratt.
