James McGee

Born April 30, 1935, in Marston, son of the late Tommie and Laura Mae McGee, he lived in the Sikeston area all of his life. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and retired from the United States Postal Service. After retirement he enjoyed a “second career” as a reading assistant at Morehouse Elementary School. He was a United States Air Force veteran and served as an elder at the Shady Acres Church of Christ for many years.

On December 9, 1955, in Sikeston, he married Geraldine Sims, who survives of the home.

He is also survived by one son, Craig McGee and wife, Becky; daughter, Christy Sherrill and husband Philip; three grandchildren, Caitlin McGee, Taylor and Dylan Sherrill; and two sisters, Frances York and Gloria Kelso.

Visitation is from 1-3 pm, Sunday, July 3 with services immediately following at 3:00 at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Pat Hogan of the Shady Acres Church of Christ will officiate.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
