Born August 22, 1938 in Morrilton, AR., to the late James and Bessie Thomas Newman.
He married Patricia Eakins Newman on January 18, 1991 in Bertrand, MO., who survives of the home.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Odis Newman of Archer City, TX., and Christopher and Lynn Carlisle of Hillsboro, MO.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Leggitt of Houston, AR., and Susan and Brian Cooper of Sikeston, MO.; one brother, Johnnie Newman of Arkansas; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Newman and one granddaughter, Barbara Rose Leggitt.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO., with Rev. Larry Riggins, officiating.
