Julie Ann Heppe, age 44 of Sikeston, MO, died at 5:50am Sunday, September 9, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born October 18, 1967 in Gary, IN, to the late Don Lowe and Nell Mason Lowe, who survives of Sikeston. She was a 1986 graduate of Sikeston High School, and in 1992 graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in elementary education and also a liberal arts degree. She taught second grade for two years at Southeast Elementary School in Sikeston. She started Julie Heppe Photography Studio in Charleston, MO in 1994. In 2008, she won the Fugi Masterpiece Photography Award and in 2009 was awarded the Children’s International Photography Award for her work. She was a spokesperson and volunteer organizer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Sikeston for several years. She was also a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.
She was married on January 9, 1988 in Sikeston, to Dewey K. Heppe, who survives of the home in Sikeston.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by one daughter, Rebecca G. Heppe of the home; by one brother, Chris Lowe of Sikeston; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Peterson of Red Oak, TX, and Michell and Tim Anglemyer of Ovilla, TX. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Nina Heppe of Charleston, MO. Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, M. Dewey Heppe.
Friends may call from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday at the Shady Acres Church of Christ, with Johnny Hester and Pat Hogan officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
