
Larry Bruce Bird, 65, of Sikeston, died January 31, 2015, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born September 8, 1949, in Kennett, to the late James and Hildred Rich Bird, he was employed for 35 years by the St. Louis District Council of Carpentry as an apprentice coordinator, and was a member of the Local 1770 Carpenters Union. He also was a member of the Miner Baptist Church. On November 27, 1978, in Benton, he married Twyla Williams, who survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son, Nicholas Bird, and one daughter, Ashley Bird, both of the home; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Andy and Becky Bird of Phoenix, Ariz., Steve and Juanita Bird of Spring Valley, Ariz., and Daniel and Valerie Bird of St. Louis. One niece and five nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Sue Bird; and one nephew.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 4, at the Miner Baptist Church. Rev. Mitchell Jackson will officiate.
