
Lawson Keith “Buddy Boy” Scott, 62, of Matthews, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at his home. Born August 30, 1949, in Matthews, to the late Lawson Alonzo and Birley Evelyn (Bohannon) Scott, he was a special needs child. He was of Baptist faith. His love of radio and the Oak Ridge Boys made him a joy to know.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Presley James “P.J.” Scott, Leroy Alfred Scott, Wesley John Scott and Jerry Lee Scott; and one sister, Linda Joanne Scott.
Survivors include: one brother, Leonard Scott of Thornton, IL; and four sisters, Frieda Kelly of Sutter, CA, Evelyn Polk of Matthews, Jeanne (David) Broadaway of Hobart, IN and Vonda (Junior) Keith of Matthews. He is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, family members and friends who loved him very much.
Visitation will be from noon until time of the funeral service at 2:00pm Saturday, January 7, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Cullen, pastor of Cornerstone Church of Bertrand will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions for funeral expenses to be sent in care of Mr. Scott’s niece, Caryn Duszka, at RR 2, Box 1407, Doniphan, MO 63935.
