She was born February 2, 1940 in Matthews, MO. to the late Hadie and Zola Lomax Cannon.
On July 4, 1958 in Sikeston, MO. she married Buddy Dock who preceded her in death on February 5, 2013.
Margaret graduated from Sikeston High School in 1957. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO. and a member of The Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137 in Sikeston. She worked at Sells Nursing Home in Matthews, MO. for twenty-one years, then she worked at the Standard Democrat for thirty-three years before retiring in 2017. After retiring she volunteered at The Christian Academy.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Carri Dock of New Hamburg, MO.; two daughters, Laura Dock Brown of Sikeston, MO., Tina Dock and Kevin Dewitt of Sikeston, MO.; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Alexis, Ashlyn, Abbi, Andrew, Alec, Audri, Addison and Avery; one great-grandson, Arden.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Shell and Liz Richards.
In response to the COVID-19 and the recent gathering guidelines a private graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO., Bro. Mitch Jackson pastor of Miner Baptist Church, officiated.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.
