Mary Marie Vaughan Fikuart

Mary Marie Fikuart, 90, of Sikeston, died September 8, 2011 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. Born September 27, 1920, in Gray Ridge, to the late Green O. and Ethel Joyce Vaughan, she was a homemaker. On September 9, 1942, she was married to Leslie Windle Fikuart, who preceded her in death on September 10, 1995.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Stanley Fikuart; two brothers, Richard Vaughan and Cecil Vaughan; three sisters, Hazel Vaughan, Rubye Barnes and Amanda Prescott; and one son-in-law, Timothy McGovern.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda and John Culbertson of Sikeston and Lydia McGovern of St. Louis; one daughter-in-law, Gayle Fikuart of Hagarville, Ark.; and two sisters, Mildred Lasater of Sikeston and Virginia Forbis of St. Louis. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Jerry Fikuart, Jesse (Billie Jo) Fikuart, Christine (Bart) Thompson, Sarah Culbertson, and Robert (Elizabeth) Culbertson; and six great grandchildren: Aaron Fikuart, Ellie Fikuart, Victoria Roeder, Zachary Thompson, Savannah Ogden and Taylor Ogden.

Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of the funeral service at 2:00pm on Monday, September 12, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chad Bles, pastor of the Terra Nova Church of Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
