

Mary Florence Johnson, 97, of Sikeston, died November 7, 2014, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born June 12, 1917, in Corinth, Miss., to the late Charles W. and Mary Harriet Sanders Pittman, she was a life-long member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the VFW Post 3174 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary loved to sew, quilt and craft. She also loved gardening, especially working with her roses.
She was preceded in death by husbands Theodore (Thetus) Jones, Bertrand (Spud) Niederstadt, and Marion (Buss) Johnson, who died in 1999.
Mary is survived by one son and his wife, Don and Nancy Jones of Poplar Bluff; three stepsons and their wives, Dennis and Mary Johnson of Piedmont, Boyce and Susan Johnson of Sikeston, and Nelson and Jane Johnson of Sikeston; two stepdaughters, Francis Kay Cox of Sikeston and Jean Ann and husband Phil Wilson of Essex; two brothers, Eldridge Pittman of Peoria, Ill. and James Pittman of Elma, Wash.; and one sister, Martha McMillin of Kennett. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Teresa Hicks, Terry Jones and Brian Jones; 19 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 18 great step grandchildren, and 12 great-great step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonetha Landreth; one grandson, Kenny Lynn Landreth; one brother, Grady Pittman; one stepson, Jackie Johnson; one stepdaughter, Pat Wren; and one step grandson, Mitchell Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where funeral services will follow at 12 noon, with John Tarter, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at the Ash Hill Cemetery in Fisk, Mo.
