Mildred Lucille Vaughn

Mildred Lucille Vaughn, 68, of Canalou, died July 20, 2014, at her home. Born September 1, 1945, in Dorena, to the late Robert McKinley and Ruth Evelyn Cunningham Johnson, she was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Canalou. On July 3, 1962, in Canalou, she married Woodrow Vaughn, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Woodrow and Michelle Vaughn Jr. of Canalou; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sheila Lucille and Tim Wilson of Sikeston, Anita and Walter Lewis of Canalou, Trena Vaughn of Canalou and Rita Vaughn-Holman and Tim Holman of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert "Kenny" and Carla Johnson of Matthews; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Spraggs of Matthews, Louise Young of Palacious, Texas, and Barbara and Jerry Landers of Matthews. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Wayne Vaughn, two sisters, Glenda Brown and Theresa Kidd, and one grandchild, Brittney Lewis.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Dwayne Coleman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canalou, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Matthews Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Timothy Wilson, Jason Masccroft, Walter Lewis II, Aaron Lewis, Darion Clark and Ethan Clark.
