
Charles Ray Freedman, 79, of Sikeston, formerly of Valley Mills, TX, died October 7, 2011 at his residence. Born September 9, 1932, in Valley Mills, to the late Jess and Emily York Freedman, he had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for Waco Paving Company, and was of Methodist belief. On June 20, 1995, in Gatesville, TX, he married Karen “Suzi” King, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest (Rooster) and Marlene Freedman of Waco, TX, Stephen and Leslie Collins of Springfield, MO, and Matt and Lisa Wilson of Harrisburg, AR; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Debbie McKelroy of China Spring, TX, Becky and Alton Kroll of China Spring, Judy and Gary Sanders of Harrisburg, AR, and Amy and Dustin Caplinger of Harrisburg; four brothers and one sister-in-law, D.G. Freedman of Valley Mills, Duncan and Linda Freedman of Valley Mills, Carroll Freedman of Waco, and Harry Freedman of China Spring; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Velma Johnson of Hewitt, TX, Diane Jordan of Waco, Delma and Sammy Mann of Valley Mills, and Inez and Chuck Rogers of Wichita Falls, TX; one brother-in-law and his wife, Joe and Vernice King of Morehouse, MO; and his mother-in-law, Mae King Roberson of Morehouse. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, at the Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco, TX.
