Velda Mae Gardner

She was born on November 21, 1941 in Batesville, AR. to the late James “Jim” and Ruby Mae Watson Williams.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Aron’s Control in Evanston, Illinois.

She is survived by two sons, James Bailey of Sikeston, MO. and Jeremy (Nina) Gardner of Sikeston, MO.; three daughters, Patti (Chris Ebert) Polley of Sikeston, MO., Angela Moore of Rapid City, SD. and Lisa (Chuck) Loflin of Wappappello, MO.; one brother Ronald Williams of Leitchfield, KY.; one sister, Lisagail Thompson of Leitchfield, KY.; and one son-in-law Gary Holifield along with fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. One special friend Lacey Bailey and her dear friend Carol Payne.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmie Williams, Rickey Williams and Billy Williams; one sister Linda Overton; one son-in-law Doug Polley and two special brother-in-laws Donald Thompson and W.T. Overton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. Visitation at 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. with Bro. Billy Davis of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church officiating.

Internment will be at Moorefield Lee’s Chapel in Batesville, Arkansas at later date.
