Velma Dickerson Dickerson Davis

Velma Dickerson Davis 97 of Sikeston died August 15, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born on October 18, 1913, in St. Francis, AR to the late Ambers and Ada Knox Dickerson. She had been a dressmaker and seamstress in Sikeston for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of North Acres General Baptist in Sikeston. On May 4, 1946 in Rector, AR she married Russell Davis who preceded her in death on March 9, 1973. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold, Willard and Bill Dickerson and 3 sisters, Morine Todd, Marie Sneed and Evelyn Cole.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Debby Davis of Sikeston; one sister, Ada Lou Dalton of Melvindale, MI; one grandson, Matthew Davis of St. Louis; one granddaughter and spouse, Mandy and Todd Anthony of St. Louis; one great granddaughter, Schuyler Grace Anthony of St. Louis; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 18 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Rev. James Trotter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, AR between the hours of 3:00-3:30pm for those who wish to attend. Pallbearers will be Matthew Davis, Todd Anthony, Randy Borsh, John Brawner, Ronnie Cole and Mike Dickerson
