She also has many adopted sons and daughters whom God has placed in her path over the years. She has impacted the lives of so many people for good: young, old, relatives, neighbors, until her transition to eternal life.
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade started working as a Pharmacist at Howard University Hospital in 1980 and rose to the position of Director of Pharmacy Services until she retired in 2021. She was loved for her collegiality and respected for her professionalism, she made so many friends over the course of forty-one years she worked at Howard University Hospital.
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade was a virtuous woman of God, she was a prayer warrior and believed that prayers are the shield and armour of a Christian. She believed in the powers of prayers and the omnipotence and benevolence of God. She was a very active member in her church, Rainbow Family Christian Center, and served the Lord in various capacities in the church. She especially loved working in the nursery and leading prayers on daily Women's prayer line.
But as the end came, she was contented that she had a good life. She came to this world and made a wonderful mark. She left behind a rich legacy of success in personal life- her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as her professional life.
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade was sent to us by God to accomplish her seven (7) seasons of life and in the process did her best to make this a better world: Just as Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 indicates,
There was her time to be born ; and now her time to die (really transition to eternal life) .
There was her time to plant her seeds of goodness, and her time to uproot the none-useful ones;
There was her time to kill whatever demons tried to interrupt her missions in life, and a time to heal wounds,
There was her time to tear down and a time to build,
There was her time to weep and her time to laugh,
There was her time to mourn and a time to dance, and yes we had several occasions to dance,
There was her time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
There was her time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
There was her time to search and a time to give up,
There was her time to keep and a time to throw away,
There was her time to tear and a time to mend,
There was her time to be silent, and a time to speak, and when she spoke, people listened,
There was her time to love and a time to hate and she hated injustice. She mostly loved though,
There was her time for war, and time for peace.
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade fully embraced life in all its dimensions, besides her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends; she loved God.
While she was here on earth, She fed the hungry, provided drink for the thirsty, invited strangers to her world, clothed the naked, visited the sick .
Then as she transitioned to heaven, it is our fervent belief that the Lord welcomed her just as he preached in Matthew 25: 34-40 .
“Come, my daughter Abimbola, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world”
“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat
I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink
I was a stranger, and you invited me in,
Naked, and you clothed Me, I was in prison, and you came to me.”
For truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade came to earth to be a force for goodness as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a virtuous woman of God, who served God faithfully until she was called home to rest in God’s bosom on Sunday July 14, 2024.
Princess Abimbola Ogunsunlade, our wife, our mother, our grandmother, our god-mother, our sister, our aunt, our cousin, our benefactor and our friend, join with God’s Angels to watch over us in this world.
Thank you for being an agent of good in this world and for enriching all our lives with your presence here on earth.
Rest In Peace O peaceful Soul.
