Barbara H. Kane

Died peacefully on August 3, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Raymond; daughters, Nancy (Charles), Cindy (Wayne), Maureen Kane Young (Gary), Judy (David) and Sally (Dan); nine grandchildren and communities of friends in Silver Spring, MD and New Baltimore, PA.

Barbara touched many lives as a teacher of Early Childhood Development and Home Economics at Northwood, Springbrook, and Sherwood High Schools in Montgomery County. Barbara was an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict of St. Vincent Archabbey of Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Friends and family may call at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD on Monday, August 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20902 on Tuesday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to the Oblates of Saint Benedict affiliated with Saint Vincent Archabbey, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650 or So Others Might Eat, Washington, DC.
