
David W, Di Carlo, On November 5, 2023 after courageously facing a long struggle with cancer David passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side. David was born to Joseph and Anna Di Carlo in La Mesa California on September 18, 1959. The family moved to Maryland in 1966. David grew up in Wheaton, MD. and attended Albert Einstein High School. After a few years in IT work David had a long career with the US Postal Service. David briefly lived in Roanoke VA, then Adelphi, MD. After Marrying his beloved wife Sharon, they settled into their lives together in Jessup, MD.
David will be remembered for his love of poetry and music. He enjoyed sharing his own poems and favorite songs with many friends and family. David was a devoted pet owner and kept his cats close to the very end. His memory was unmatched for details and dates when he shared the many stories of his life. But he may be best remembered for being the king of “Dad Jokes”, every story, call or social media post began or ended with a wonderfully terrible pun.
David was predeceased by his loving wife Sharon Di Carlo, his parents Joseph and Anna Di Carlo, his sister Rosanna McNamara, and his brother John Di Carlo. David is survived by his sons Andrew Di Carlo (Elizabeth), Joseph Di Carlo (Keyara), and Patrick Di Carlo. His brother Joseph Di Carlo and family, his sister-in-law Janet Conley, Sharon’s brothers, and sisters along with many nieces and nephews.
Together with his sons, David’s lifelong friends Tony and Barbara Acquaviva will host a celebration of David’s life on Saturday February 10, 2024, at Lillie’s Restaurant, 2915 Connecticut Ave NW Washington, DC at 11am.
