It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandmother, Diane Karras, who passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, she will be remembered for her deep faith, warm spirit and unwavering love for those around her.
Born on November, 21, 1947, in a small village in Greece, lived a life grounded in the traditions and values of her Greek Orthodox faith. Her days were filled with prayer, generosity and service - not only to her church but to everyone blessed to know her. She lived her beliefs with grace and humility.
Diane was the heart of her family, a pillar of strength and comfort. She passed on her faith and culture with pride, teaching her children and grandchildren the customs and language of her heritage that she loved so much.
Diane is survived by her loving children, Tasso Karras (Gina) Angie Karras Elder (Tim), her five grandsons; Tasso, Alex, Anthony, Ryan and Kevin, family and friends.
May her memory be eternal.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 10 AM followed by funeral service at 11 AM at St. Theodore Greek Orthodox Church (7101 Cipriano Rd, Lanham, MD 20706). Burial will occur at 1 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906).
