We regretfully announce the passing of Felice Antonio Apolito on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Felice was born to the late Michele and Rosina Apolito on January 5, 1933 in Orria, Province of Salerno, Italy. The family lived through the early death of their father in 1935 and the devastation in Italy of World War II. He immigrated to the United States in 1953. He was a cobbler by trade, loved fishing, poker, and pickle ball.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Giovanni Apolito, and sister Carmina Carbone.
Felice is survived by his brother Michele Apolito and his wife Olga; his nieces and nephew Ivonne Knowles and her husband Tom, Maria Curzi and her husband Fab, Giovanni Apolito and his wife Lori, Rose Marie Apolito McCorkle, Alba Howes and her husband Keith, Adriana Bevis and her husband Don, and their families.
Felice was a wonderful and loving son, brother and uncle. He was a caregiver to his mother, and was always ready to give a helping hand to those in need. Those of us who knew him will remember his calm demeanor, his sense of humor, his smile, and his ‘I love you too’ response every time we ended a call or visited him. He will forever be remembered in our family gatherings and in our hearts.
A visitation for Felice will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. A Celebration of Life memorial service will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur immediately following at 2:30 PM at George Washington Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, Maryland 20783.
