My thoughts and prayers are constantly with the family of my precious friend Frances. It was truly a blessing to have her as my friend, and I will always cherish every moment we had together. We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Frances Beard, our friend.  Our deepest condolences to Bill, Patrique and the rest of the Beard Family.  We remember Frances as a person who loved to laugh.  She was kind, thoughtful & encouraging.  With her illness, she fought a good fight, but her Heavenly Father was ready for her to come home. I am saddened to hear of the passing of my friend, Frances. She was a gift to so many of us, teaching us how to care, give grace, love and forgive. Her faith was her strength and she was never afraid to share it.

Frances was one of my very special students when I taught her at Alpha. We became friends for over fifty years, through all the ups and downs of her wonderful life. I felt blessed that she considered me a friend, in spite of the age difference between us.  I will not forget her warmth, her humour and closeness to her family.

I remember the first time I met Frances in the mid-1970s in Buffalo. She was the kindest and most beautiful woman I’d ever met. She warmed the hearts of everyone in our family, and it was clear what our Uncle Claude saw in her. It felt like she brought the sunshine, warmth,  and love of Jamaica everywhere she went, especially to the cold dark winters in Buffalo. We lost a special and wonderful ray of light and love. Beard Jr, daughter Patrique Beard; sisters Jean Lowrie-Chin and San- dra Lowrie, brother Rev Deacon Sydney Lowrie; sister- and brother-in-law Charlene Butler and Hubert Chin; nieces and nephews Danya Lowrie-McCree (Jason), Angelo Lowrie (Emily), Anita Chin, Noel Chin; grand nieces and nephews Leila, Jayden, Zion, Blair and Celine.
