On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Francis “Franny” Colandreo, of Germantown, MD, died surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Biagio and Anna Colandreo, devoted husband of Karen Leilani Colandreo for 44 years, and father of Lauren Cannon (Scott) and James (Amber). He was predeceased by his parents, sister Giovina Landis (Larry), sister-in-law Kenna Carpenter (Mark), godparents Leonard “Buzzy” and Mary Speakes, and his beloved uncle Silvio Colandreo (survived by Yolanda). He is survived by his grandchildren Amelia, Vincent, Evie, Oliver, and Cooper and his remaining siblings Antoinette, Joseph (Karen), Christina Shawver (Craig), Margaret Doane (Dale), Biagio, Jr. (Cheryl), and Rosemarie Allan (Robert). He also leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD on Thursday, April 23rd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 595 3rd St NW, Washington, DC 20001, on Friday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m.
