As long-time patrons of the Greek Village restaurants, we were greatly saddened to hear of George's passing. The restaurant with its excellent food, especially its Greek lemon soup, attentive staff, and its congenial atmosphere is a tribute to George.  He was a welcoming host, and we will miss him. We send our condolences and prayers to George's family and friends.

Writing on behalf of the late Mr. Sidney Weiss and his children, Barbara, Michael and Ellen, spouses and families:

We were deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of the patriarch of your family, Mr. George Bourzikos. 

Perhaps you remember us from the many Sunday evenings we joined you for dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant. How well we remember you, the excellent food, the warm, inviting atmosphere, but most especially your unending kindnesses to our father, especially as he aged. Three generations of our family frequented the restaurant weekly for many years, and we felt particularly close to Mr. Bourzikos and to Toula, who was frequently our server, and we followed her successful path all the way through college. Dad and Mr. Bourzikos always caught up on whatever local team was playing that day, and your family always invited us in to eat even when the restaurant was "closed" for a family event like a wedding or a christening.

Our hearts go out to all of you. May Mr. Bourzikos's memory be for a blessing, and may you know no more of such sorrows.

Dear family of Mr. George,
            Our sincere condolences on the passing of you dear husband and  father. We have been patrons of the Greek Village for 17 years. Mr. George catered our daughter’s high school graduation and wedding rehearsal dinner. He was a wonderful man and an outstanding chef. He will truly be missed. May his memory be eternal.

Dear Mary and Family,

We grieve with you the loss of your beloved husband and father. Mr. George was like my uncle. You have been a part of our family for so long. We have celebrated all our joys and shared moments of sadness with you and our loved ones at your amazing restaurant. The restaurant has been an extension of my home and your family has always been a part of my family. My children grew up, danced, drew and practiced Greek at the restaurant.  The atmosphere you created there made us come time and time again. Mr. George and your family put your heart and soul to create a little plateia for all of us to gather at the Greek Village.
