Harry I. Lipkind, age 79, of Silver Spring, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on December 13, 1946, to the late Abraham and Rose Gershaw Lipkind. After high school, he attended Northeastern University where he obtained a degree in Optical Science. He then went on to Rochester Institute of Technology where he obtained his Master’s in Computer Science. On August 12, 1973, in Miami, he married Karen, with whom he shared over 44 years of marriage. Together, they had two children, Alisa and Joanne. Harry is preceded in death by his wife Karen and his daughter Alisa (Shane) Lipkind-Upchurch. Prior to launching his own computer business, he worked at the Central Intelligence Agency. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne. A graveside funeral service will be held at Judean Gardens in Olney, Maryland on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10am.
