Jeanne Arline Huggins, 80, of Colesville, MD peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on March 19, 2024, at the Casey House. Born September 19, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Byarne [Bud] and Dorothy [Dot] Gamborg. She is survived by her husband Harold, daughters Deborah Sue Riordan, Lori Jeanne Canzanese [David] and brother Lee Gamborg [Renee]. Also, survived by her grandchildren, Brittney Riordan, Daniel Riordan, Matthew Riordan, Connor Canzanese, Katherine Canzanese and great grandchildren, Justin Corba, Abel Corba and Emma Rose Lengrand.
She lived most of her teenage life in Kensington, MD and graduated in 1961 from Wheaton High School. She studied to be a medical secretary at Montgomery College and graduated in 1963 with an Associate Arts degree. She obtained immediate employment with the medical practice of Allen J. O'Neill in Bethesda, MD., across from Suburban Hospital, where she worked for five years until she started her family. This association would develop into a lifelong family relationship.
She met her husband, Harold while attending Kensington Baptist Church, they courted for a short six weeks, were engaged on March 17, 1965, and married on November 6, 1965. This bond produced two adorable daughters who would grow into remarkable ladies. Jeanne had five grandchildren and three great grandchildren whom she loved and adored dearly.
Jeanne engaged in ALL the activities of the kids growing up - Volunteer Girl Scout leader, field trip chaperone, and Treasurer of the Stonegate PTA. She was a volleyball mom-the loudest voice on the court. This continued with her grandchildren as she attended all of their sports events and activities. She was an avid bowler and member of a women's league for several years. She was very active in her church, which she attended regularly, singing in the choir and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a prayer warrior extraordinaire!
She was the office manager for her husband's business, Harold H. Huggins Realty, Inc. until she retired in 2017. She was the caring force in business and life.
Jeanne was a remarkable woman. Charming, graceful with a very warm smile and disposition. She never met anyone that she did not develop into a friend and was an inspiration to all. She maintained her beautiful smile along with her keen wit and her commitment and dedication to her GOD throughout her entire life. She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well.
It is these memories and more that shall keep her alive in our hearts.
