

John Martin Hope passed away at the age of 70 the morning of December 1, 2021, in Silver Spring, Maryland.
John was born on August 10, 1951, in Kittery, Maine. His parents were Edward Hope and Kathleen Hope-Bray. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Colleen Hope; brother, James; son, Mick; daughter, Carrie Tafe; and three grandchildren.
John served honorably in the Navy followed by a career in private industry. In search of a public mission, he then served his country in the Peace Corps and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. From a young age, John’s passion was playing the drums. He marched in The Cadets Drum Corps which is a World Class competitive drum and bugle corps based in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
A private memorial service will be held in Maine (TBD). A Scholarship Fund has been established in John’s memory at Drum Corps International (DCI).
