

Kam Chuen Wong passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. He is survived by his four children, Anita Wong, Usula Wong, Ching Ingalla (Rolly), Ted Wong (Alice); eight grandchildren, Jennifer Meadows (Lonnie), Nicole Wong (Liran Garber), Bryan Lee (Shelly), Brittany Lewis (Kyle), Sydney McIver (Patrick), Lilly Wong, Bailey Ingalla, Michael Wong; and eleven great-grandchildren, Tyece Hartley (Isaac), Leila Meadows, Penelope Lewis, Adelyn Lewis, Patton Lewis, Ayden Lee, Miya Garber, Christopher Lewis, Charli McIver, Gabriel Garber, Emma Lee. He is predeceased by his wife, Shiu Wan Lee Wong, his older sister, his nephew, and his parents.
He was born in China on May 29, 1937, and in his early teens, left to join his father in Cuba. While in Cuba, he helped his father at his convenience store. He then moved to Hong Kong, where he married Shiu Wan Lee in 1957. His life’s journey took him back to Cuba, Hong Kong, Columbia, South America, eventually settling in Maryland in the early 1970’s.
He helped at his father-in-law’s restaurant, New Buddha, for many years until it closed. He then worked at Sampan Café and Kona Kai Restaurant. In 1981, he, along with his wife, opened China Boy, a very successful rice noodle business. It was well known for all the delicious foods he made, especially his Beef Chow Foon, a family favorite. Working tirelessly, they ran the business until 2005, when they finally sold the business and retired.
He will be dearly missed by his large family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, SILVER SPRING, MD 20904 on October 25, 2025, 10am-11am, followed by a short service 11am-11:30.am. Interment will follow the service at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722 at 12:30pm. Repass following interment at Silver Fountain, 13533 Connecticut Ave, Silver Spring, MD, MD 20906
