

Ken was the beloved husband of Barnette Druskin; devoted father of David Druskin (Marlene), Brian Druskin, Hal Cory Druskin (Alina), Kyle Druskin (Saule), Karen Trebach (Sean), Michael Nelson, and Janice Rappaport (Steve); adored brother to Judi Goozh and Cindy Perlis (Fred); and cherished grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of two. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ken Druskin was born March 30, 1932, in Washington, DC. A graduate of BCC High School, Ken attended University of Maryland and served in the US Army in Korea 1952-1954. He has four sons with his first wife, Mala Segal. A devoted father, Ken was coach to many of his son’s sports teams. His first marriage ended in divorce.
In 1981, he married Barnette Weissman Nelson of Potomac, MD. He became a loving father to her three children. Throughout his life, Ken provided love, guidance and support without hesitancy to all his family. He was generous to all. Later in life he became a board member and fundraiser for FoundCare of West Palm Beach.
Personal Hobbies & Travel: Throughout his life Ken prioritized travel and exercise. He was an avid runner, tennis player, skier and golf enthusiast. He won several golf trophies at his golf club, The Breakers in Palm Beach. Ken and Barnette traveled often, across the world including trips to Europe, Asia and the islands. Ken and Barnette also enjoyed several biking trips. In the mid to late 1990s, they traveled across the United States and Canada in motorhome coaches, enjoying many of the national parks and always stopping along the way to see friends, family and grandkids.
Ken’s favorite activity of all was being at the beach with his family and reading a good spy novel. Among every grandchild’s favorite memories is being at the beach with Grandpa Ken and Bibi. Every summer for two weeks the family would journey to Rehoboth, Bethany, Cape May, or Nags Head to enjoy each other’s company, swim in the ocean and play in the sand.
Business Career: Early in his real estate career, he was a residential real estate salesman and broker, at James C. Conley and later his eponymous firm with two offices, employing approximately 25 salespeople. In addition to brokerage, Ken developed several housing projects around the DC area.
In 1968 he began his commercial real estate sales career at Shannon & Luchs where he oversaw a sales force of 12 investment property specialists. In 1978 he became head of the investment sales group and eventually Senior Managing Director with Julien J. Studley, Inc. There, Ken consummated in excess of $1 billion in commercial real estate sales. He became a life member of the Washington Board of Realtors Commercial Sales Club. He served on the Washington board of Trade as well as the Mayor’s Overall Economic Development Advisory Commission.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27 at 1 p.m., Garden of Remembrance in Clarksburg, MD.
