

On Friday, October 28th, 2022, Marie-Jeanne Lambert of Silver Spring, MD died at the age of 85. She is survived by Sandy Rubenstein, her beloved spouse of 39 years, cherished nephews Joshua and Aaron Rubenstein, niece Margaret Crane and family, nephew AG Lambert and family, sister-in-law Elisabeth Lambert, brothers-in-law Peter and Danny Rubenstein and chosen family of friends.
Born in Paris, Marie-Jeanne was a child survivor of the Holocaust. A social worker, Jewish communal professional, professor of French and Comparative Literature, and mentor, she was also a dedicated feminist, a synagogue leader, a gifted cook, a jeweler, and an artist. She maintained her keen sense of humor throughout her life. Above all, she was a beloved friend who impacted the lives of so many.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 7th, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Beth Chayim Chadashim, 6090 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles. Medical grade mask and proof of Covid vaccination and 1 booster required. Interment will follow at Home of Peace Memorial Park, 4334 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles. Zoom shiva services follow through the week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Chayim Chadashim or Doctors Without Borders.
