

Mary Margret Andrews, 95, passed away on February 22, 2015 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born on May 3, 1919 in Washington, D.C. to Francesco and Filomena Boccabella. The twelfth of thirteen siblings, Mary grew up in Washington, D.C. After graduation from McKinley Technical High School, Mary worked and later retired from the Federal Government, working for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Pentagon. Mary married her first husband, James W. Cummings in April of 1941 with whom she had four children. She and her second husband, Elmer J. Andrews married in 1968 and after a short stay in Beltsville, Maryland, happily spent their retirement years in Cape Coral, Florida. Mary was a member of St Andrew Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. For many years, Mary volunteered her time and energy to the Kidney Foundation of Cape Coral. Mary is survived by her sons James W. Cummings III, Christopher Cummings and Hugh (Pamela) Cummings; her daughter Marie (Ben) Dickson; step daughters Pamela Andrews and Linda Stanford; step son John (Bonnie) Andrews her sister Cecilia Kirch of Mineral, VA; 10 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Francesco and Filomena; her husband Elmer; and eleven brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 595 3rd St NW, Washington, DC 20001 at 10:00 am, March 7, 2015. Visitations will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2015. Burial will follow the funeral at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy E, Cape Coral, FL 33909 or your favorite charity.
