

Mary Eig Wells, 69, of Chevy Chase, Maryland died January 2, 2021 from complications of multiple sclerosis, a disease she suffered from for decades with grit and grace. Lively and warm, Ms. Wells attracted many lifelong friends, who join her family in mourning her passing. She dedicated her professional life to promoting the disabled. Until her condition progressed, Ms. Wells was an interpreter for the hearing impaired and an adviser for disabled students in the Colorado community college system.
Ms. Wells was born on May 5, 1951 in Chevy Chase, the daughter of the late Shirley Pisner Eig and Lawrence Sidney Eig. For many years, she resided in Aurora, Colorado with her beloved late husband, Clarence (Lee) Wells. Ms. Wells is survived by her brother Larry Eig of Ashton, Maryland; her sister Sydney Eig of Derwood, Maryland; her brother Richard Eig of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and sister Eden Santa Cruz of Gaithersburg, Maryland. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her dedicated caretakers from Adventist Health Care, who lovingly helped to keep Ms. Wells comfortable and extend her life. Interment arrangements are pending. Donations in memory of Ms. Wells may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
