

It is with great sadness the family of Michael D. Wilson announce his unexpected passing on February 23, 2025. Mike was born on November 10, 1957 to Michael R. and Shirley A. (Nagle) Wilson, in Washington, DC. He is survived by his loving children Lauren Key (Mike), Michael Wilson (Eunike), and his four beautiful grandchildren, Declan, Maddox, Bear, and Maiken, his former wife and mother of their adored children, Marjie Marvaso Wilson, his siblings Kimberlee Williams (Frank), Tammy Wilson (Steve) and Josh Wilson (Nicole), his nephews Jason Williams (Jessica), Steven Williams (Erin) Evan Wilson and his niece Stephanie Williams, His life partner Loren Kearns, and their dog Maggie, his furry faithful companion, a large extended family, and many cherished friends.
Mike lived a full life, after growing up in Maryland, graduating from Bishop McNamara High School, attending Local 5 Union Trade School, then building a successful mechanical contracting career rising to Division President and Partner of John J. Kirlin, Inc. From growing their life in Maryland to South Florida, and eventually North Carolina, Mike cherished and loved his beautiful family, the times they shared especially making lasting memories on vacations and adventures, and being a wonderful and fun Poppy to his grandchildren. He was a builder and a developer, not only of projects, beautiful homes and properties, but of lifelong friendships and relationships. Mike had a great sense of humor, a quick wit providing lots of laughs, a huge and generous heart always willing to help others live a better life, creating opportunities for his family and friends. Through his passion for living, and his youthful spirit, Mike lived his life to fullest, from his love of cars, to Harley Davidson adventures, collecting art, cruising the beautiful waters of Florida and the islands of the Bahamas, to fulling his dream of living in the wild west. Montana became a special place he loved and spent most of the final years of his life. A home where his amazing ability to dream and to create his vision for a life well lived, including his incredible manmade ‘Lake Shirley’ in memory of his Mom. He enjoyed countless hours working on his property making it all that he could to share with those he loved, his partner Loren, his cherished family especially the grandchildren and his closest of friends. Everyone loved Mike and the ease of which he could speak and relate to anyone he met. He was an everything guy to those that knew and loved him and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
A visitation for Michael will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. A private prayer service with immediate family will occur the morning of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home. Following the prayers, a graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20906.
