
Naphtali Y. Matlis Naphtali Matlis was born to Yakov and Rita Matlis in Ukraine on December 31, 1974. The family emigrated and made a new home for themselves in Marblehead, Massachusetts. An inquisitive child turned into a brilliant man rich in education, knowledge, interests and personality. After earning his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in 1996, followed by both an MBA and MSIS in 2001 from Boston University, and finally a JD in 2010 from the Catholic University, he embarked on the career he was so passionate about: patent law. He worked for many years with Birch, Stewart, Kolasch, and Birch in Falls Church, Virginia. He was the loving husband of Dorothy and proud father of Olivia and Joshua. He is survived by them, along with his parents. On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, he died at home in Arlington, Virginia after a long cancer battle valiantly fought. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Gardens of Remembrance in Clarksburg, Maryland. Naphtali, also known as Toly, Tali, and Tolic, was an amazing man who was loved by many. No matter what nickname you called him, his unique mind and passion for life will never be forgotten.
