Paul David Lamari, loving husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on Tuesday July 11th, 2023. Paul was born on November 10, 1984 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Cary and Wanda Lamari. Paul’s childhood was spent making memories with his sister, Nicole, developing and maintaining relationships with friends who would turn into family, and discovering a love for film, music, video games, writing, and according to a biography written in 5th grade by a childhood friend, an interest in some fame, chemistry, and a little bit of magic.
Paul graduated in 2006 from The University of Maryland in College Park, with a degree in Government and Politics, countless memories and friendships, and an ambition to take on law school. Paul earned his Juris Doctorate with honors from The University of Baltimore School of Law in 2009, and went on to complete his MBA from The University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business in 2010. While Paul was very humble about his academic achievements, his family continues to be so proud. Paul was barred in the states of Maryland, DC, and Virginia, and was employed as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for WMS Partners in Towson, Maryland. Paul was an invaluable asset to his company and his work ethic and commitment to his job was unmatched.
While Paul’s fame may not have made it to the movie scene which he so enjoyed, he certainly was, in the words of Springsteen, a Local Hero to all who were lucky enough to know him. He was and is his parents’ pride and joy, his sister’s confidant, and his friends’ constant source of companionship, sarcasm, and the gold standard of what it meant to be a friend.
Paul may not have been a chemist, but the chemistry he and his wife, Kelly, were lucky enough to experience from being high school sweethearts to taking on the role of parenthood was nothing short of a marvel. Paul was always hypothesizing, observing, experimenting, and willing to change any variable he could to be the best version of himself for Kelly. Paul’s efforts resulted in infinite memories for Kelly to hold onto.
Most importantly, the bond between Paul and his son Ford was nothing short of magical. Paul provided the most magical 5 ½ years to Ford through their daily interactions, shared love of movies, video games, and pushing Mom’s buttons, and most importantly, Paul’s willingness to stop at nothing to see Ford smile. Ford was Paul’s constant source of happiness, humor, and love, and Paul’s legacy will continue to be a source of happiness, humor, and love for Ford.
He is survived by his wife Kelly Lamari, son Ford Lamari, parents Cary and Wanda Lamari, and sister Nicole Lamari. Paul is also survived by in-laws Kenneth and Susan O’Connell, brother-in-law Sean O’Connell (Caitlin), sister-in-law Kerry Toigo (Daniel), and niece and nephews, Emily Shea O’Connell and Stephen and Brayden Toigo, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paul was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Rosa Lamari, and maternal grandparents, David and Esther “Fran” Connelly.
