

Peter A. Kapsidelis, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, after a brief illness. He was 94 and lived in Wheaton for 50 years.
Mr. Kapsidelis was the son of Agorastos and Marianthe Kapsidelis. He was born in New York and grew up in Lemnos, Greece, after his parents returned there early in his childhood. He came to the United States shortly before the war and served in combat in North Africa and Italy.
Mr. Kapsidelis was a retired owner and operator of taxis, driving for Barwood and the former Bell cab in Montgomery County. He previously lived in Hopewell, Va., and was the former owner of the Virginia Restaurant and New Market Lunch in Petersburg.
The love of his life was Viola Kapsidelis, who died April 3, 2015. They were inseparable over seven decades, whether in the kitchen, their garden or on beach trips where Mr. Kapsidelis enjoyed fishing. He was her first caregiver as she entered a period of declining health.
Mr. Kapsidelis was devoted to his faith and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Md.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Bill Peter and Trish Kapsidelis of McLean, Va., and Thomas Peter and Karin Kapsidelis of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Peter Bill Kapsidelis of Falls Church, Va., Katherine Anne Kapsidelis of Los Angeles and Alexander Thomas Kapsidelis of New York.
The family would like to thank caregivers Zaida Gomez, Karla Vargas and Isabella Rodriguez for their loving service to Mr. and Mrs. Kapsidelis.
A visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m., both at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 7701 Bradley Boulevard, Bethesda, MD 20817 with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
