Grandpa, where do I begin.  I love you, we all love you and will miss you more than you will ever know.  I have so many memories of my grandfather and was always in awe and envious of his character, values, and morals.  He cared so much for not only his own family, but those around the church and community...everyone was his family and if you needed help, you could count on my grandfather.  I will always cherish the time we spent together, whether it was at a Redskins game, fishing on the boat, or playing golf...even messing around in the basement as you tuned my golf swing.  He was a man of God and led his life through his words, a humble man that stuck to his convictions but showed the passion and empathy you would expect from a man that cared so much about others.  He and I shared a love for this country and I am proud of his service to this nation and hope to make him proud with mine.  I am sorry that I could not be there, but I know you understand that duty and the nation calls and I must answer that call.  I will always love you, envy you, and hold you in the highest.  You are my grandpa and there is no one that can replace you.  So all I can say is that I love you, have peace, and be with God as you were chosen to be.  

I only met Mr. Harris a few times, and I must say, he minded me of my father. I felt every time I was around him, I wanted to give him a big hug. I did not do so because of his demeanor of being around his son's friends who he seem to be not sure of. (smile)  I will truly miss him and may God continue to watch over him and bring him into his new home, which I believe is heaven. Mr. Harris, you will be truly missed. May God continue to hold you in the palm of his hands.

He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Raymond III (Leah), Kia Birdsong (Corey), Angela, and Arlando, step-granddaughter: Chon Davis and several great-grandchildren as well as other loving relatives and a host of friends.
