Born in Marion, Ohio, Ronda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to her devoted husband, Russ, for 71 years — a lifelong partnership grounded in love, faith, and commitment.
A graduate of the University of Maryland, Ronda was a perennial “A” student throughout high school and college. During her time at Maryland, she was a natural performer — proudly serving as a majorette and a spirited member of the university’s Red & White Band. She later taught Spanish in the public school system for more than 10 years, inspiring students with her passion for language and learning.
Ronda had a deep and enduring love for the beach. Ocean City, Maryland was her happy place — especially her beloved condominium on 81st Street, where she spent countless summer days over the past 50+ years surrounded by sun, surf, family, and friends.
She was known for her boundless energy, spirited nature, and positive outlook on life. She brought fun, laughter, and brightness to every gathering. A true force of nature, she was still attending gym workout classes three days a week well into her 89th year.
She is survived by her husband Russ; her children, Cheri and Rusty (Diana); her grandchildren, Ryan, TJ, and Kristi (Chris); her great-grandson, Joseph; her younger sisters, Linda and Paula; and her faithful dog of 16 years, Annie. Her joy, vitality, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 4pm, with a reception following, at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org in Ronda’s memory.
