Sonia Pasis

Sonia Pasis was born on September 4, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Fannie (Schreiber) Pasis. She died on 01/20/2026 at White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring Maryland. She resided at Arbor Ridge within Riderwood Village, Silver Spring prior to her death.

Sonia graduated high school and took a few college classes overseas while working as a secretary for the Central Intelligence Agency. She worked for the CIA for roughly 30 years. During those years, she traveled extensively and resided in a least 7 countries. She enjoyed learning various languages and could speak German, French, Yiddish and English at various points over her lifetime.

Sonia was an avid skater. She began skating at a very young age and grew to love it so much she skated competitively. She learned both roller skating and ice skating. She continued to roller skate into her early 80’s at the Laurel skate rink.

Sonia was predecessors by her older sister Lena Brott (Clarence) and her “baby brother” Bernard Pasis (Kathy) as well as both of her parents, Jacob and Fannie Pasis. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on 01/23/2026 at 10:00 at the George Washington/Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783.
