Verlene Biddings Goho, Esquire On Sunday, April 17, 2016, God saw fit to call home his daughter, Verlene Biddings Goho. Verlene was born in East Chicago, IN on September 9, 1967 to Carol L. Lucious and Anthony H. Biddings. Verlene graduated in 1985 from William H. Wirt High School. In 2000 she married the love of her life, Pierre-Antoine Goho. She attended the University of Maryland University College where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in Communications. From 2005-2008, she served as a school teacher in Ethiopia and in 2012, she graduated from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. Upon graduation Verlene became a staff Attorney at Convergent Revenue Cycle Management and later an Associate for the Law Office of Aileen Oliver. While Verlene had a very impressive educational and professional career, she knew “where her help cometh from” and truly loved the Lord. As a child she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and sought to maintain a relationship with the Lord. She was an active member of Capital Christian Fellowship, where she faithfully served as an usher, a member of the praise team, and on the Board of Directors. Verlene was devoted to being Christ-like, sharing His love and witnessing. Verlene was truly a gift and meant so much to many people. She was a loving wife who empowered her husband and with the love of Christ honored him and supported all his dreams. She was a daughter who was obedient, caring, respectful and truly a joy to raise. She was a sister who taught life lessons and nurtured the bond with her siblings until the end. Most importantly, she loved God. She was loyal, selfless, patient, kind and a loving friend. She always saw value in everyone. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 (New Living Translation). She did not lose the battle to cancer. She believed that God was a healer and nothing was too hard for Him. She loved God so much that she embraced His will for her life and declared his greatness until the very end. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Pierre-Antoine Goho; her parents Carol L. Lucious and Anthony H. Biddings (Dianne); her siblings, Curtis L. Biddings and Jacqueline T. Biddings; step-siblings Dana Verrett (Hilton) and El'Jireh Trammell; 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew and a host of family and friends.
