Utter shock upon finding this sad news and while trying to contact Brett. I am an old friend and neighbor who moved away but between us, one would unexpectedly call the other to say hi and catch up. How very sad to think I may have talked with Brett not too long before his passing and never suspected it would be our last time to chat. Our family's thoughts and sympathies go out to Mindy and the children. Brett's spirit will be missed in our memories. Rest well friend.

My condolence to Brett's Family.

I was thinking of Brett today 5/6/2016 and thought I should try to contact him. I found is office number but call and it had been disconnected. Then I searched further.  I am so sorry I did not get to visit with Brett sooner.

I was at the University of Oklahoma in 2011 and Niki the long time assistant to the Architectural School told me that Brett had just been there a few days before to enroll his son in the Architectural School. 

I went to the University of Oklahoma Architectural School with Brett.  He was OUTSTANDING. He and I did many things together at the University. The Architectural Annual Boehs Arts Ball was one of them, where we constructed many fun structures each year that we attended. One most memorable was a hugh inflatable space. Bret was an outgoing and sometime outspoken student but full of life an so full of talent and imagination.  He will be missed.

I got to know Brett as part of an Indian Princess troop, with our daughters Mariah and Kristin.  Always fun to be around, Brett freely gave of his time, took on with enthusiasm any project our group pursued and was a great example of a loving Dad for the rest of us. I'm sorry for your loss.

I went to North Shore Congregation Israel, Oaklane, Northbrook Jr. High and Glenbrook North with Brett.  In grade school he had so much energy filled with ideas and inventions.  His drawings were always meticulous even at a young age.  At Temple he demonstrated his faith in God and family.  I wish you all peace and comfort during this difficult time. God Bless,

Brett was a frequent customer at Einstiens Bagels.  He was always kind, gracious and thoughtful.  He and his 'motorcycle friends' would often begin their Sundays with us before traveling to parts unknown.  I will remember his kindness, his love for his wife and children and his genuine concern for my family.

My condolences to the family, Brett and I shared Boy Scouting together he was a leader for my son and a colleague in architecture. Words can't express how greatly he will be missed.

Wish I could be there to give you all a big hug. That's a lot of women to leave behind....

I'm so sorry. Words  not enough, you are in my thoughts and prayers

I am very saddened at the news of Bretts' Death. My condolences to his family. My father and his father worked together as did Brett and I on many many projects through the years.

My condolences to Brett's family.  I grew up with Brett and have nothing but good memories of him.

We at Samartano & Company are saddened by the news of Brett's passing. James Samartano, Robert Angarone and the late Henry Marek all worked on several projects with Brett over the years. Going as far back as the 1980's we can recall visits to our office by Brett; accompanied by his father Bill; to discuss various projects they were working on. There was always plenty of lively discussion and debate in the effort of producing the best product for their clients. Our sincere condolences to the Karson Family.

I wanted to convey my condolences to the Karson family with the passing of Brett. I met Brett back in the 1970's when we were active the scouting program in northeastern IL.  He was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be surely missed.

Brett and I began our relationship in 1966. He was my first love. He was the man with whom I had 20 yrs of marriage and two beautiful daughter: Mariah and Erin. My sympathies go to his mother and sisters; his wife and all the children. Everyone who knew him were effected in one way or another. May the good memories surround all those who feel his loss and give comfort.

Brett Carson was a great, always smiling guy who made you feel welcome in his presence. A big star on Art Van Aman's swim team at GBN 1968-69....Later, after I got off the road as a traveling musician, I hired Brett to draw up the Architectural plans for my Sweet Sixteen Recording Studio. I knew Brett in collage and we shared great times together. Sometimes in summer we rode motorcycles on Sundays to various locations in Illinois and Wisconsin to have lunch with the gang.  Brett was a great friend I will miss him.  My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.

Grew up with Brett, and we were friends and neighbors back in Northbrook East.  We spoke at the last reunion, and, remembered our childhood together.  My deepest sympathies are with his family.  Rest in peace my old friend.

I was a friend of Brett's through grade school and High School. I have good memories and will always remember him fondly. My condolences to his family. Remember the good times.

I am a former classmate at GBN of Brett's.  I remember him as a wonderful kind person and I am so sorry for your loss.

Brett Karson was a unique combination of warmth and ethics, giving yet with a no nonsense bearing, a rock.  A dependable man who didn't just contribute to his community, he helped build this community and every life he touched is better off for having known him.  His love for his family was evident in the way he spoke of them, and I can't remember a conversation with Brett that he didn't speak of family. Brett's kindness was often demonstrated in how he gave of himself, and he gave a lot.  Our condolences to the Karson family.
