

Catherine was born in Brighton, ME in 1940. She was the daughter of the late Melba and Roland Hunt. After her marriage to Harold Ketchum, she moved to Cornville. She worked at the box factory in Skowhegan for several years while raising her two daughters. She was married to Harold for 42 years until his passing in March 2001.
Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. As a young mother, she especially enjoyed her time at the family camp on Ironbound Pond. She loved animals and nature. Her time was often spent feeding wild birds and squirrels. She had her own special bird, Bashful, who will miss her. Cathy also enjoyed doing puzzles and watching old westerns. She made jewelry for herself and her daughters and granddaughters. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed the afghans, mittens, and hats she made. She enjoyed her time visiting with her brother and sister. She was a caring and generous person who put others ahead of herself, always helping out her friends, neighbors and family.
She is survived by her daughters Virginia White and partner Michael Cowing and Kimberly Holmes and husband Kerry, her sister Carol McManus, and brother Gayland Hunt and Nina. Her grandchildren Jamie White, Danielle and husband Greg Gobel and Benjamin White, great-grandchildren Tyler, Zackary, and Annabelle White and Grace and Sophia Gobel, her in-laws Harland and Avis Ketchum, Kenneth Ketchum and Irene. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friends Marjorie Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury. She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband, and her mother and father-in-law Blanche and Verne Ketchum.
Viewing hours will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
