

She was born January 19, 1949 in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of Carlton R. Holt and Eleanor (Hilton) Holt Weeks.
Gloria was educated in the Canaan Schools.
She married Kenneth Chesley on August 3, 1968.
She worked for Solon Manufacturing in Skowhegan as a hand wrapper and other jobs for over 20 years.
Gloria loved horses, old western movies, The Wizard of Oz, her cats, going to cookouts and family gatherings. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jean Wood and her husband Dan of Lisbon, Kenneth Holt and his wife Pauline of Skowhegan, Lawrence Holt and his companion Amy Joe Moak of Athens, George Chesley of Oakland, Sara Doucette and her companion Brian Malcolm of Skowhegan, one brother Carlton Holt and his companion Rita Kimball of Skowhegan, two sisters, Barbara Hewitt of Portland, Nancy Holt of Skowhegan, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Kenneth Chesley and her beloved grandson Timothy Wood.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 11am at the East Skowhegan Cemetery in Skowhegan, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
