Harry Snow Watkins Sr.

OAKLAND -- Harry Snow Watkins Sr., 64, of Oakland passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, with his family by his side.

Harry was born June 1, 1947, in Augusta, the son of Philip Elwell Watkins and Joan May (Snow) Watkins.

Harry married the former Lynda Lamphier on Dec. 3, 2011.

He was a master marine mechanic for 48 years and spent the last 10 years as a tattoo artist; he loved the art of tattoo. Harry loved boats, his family, kids and grandchildren. He was known to have many hobbies. He had a passion for building race cars for his boys. He was an avid race car fan and also loved to fly model airplanes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, traveling and golfing. Harry will always be remembered as prankster.

He is survived by his companion in life and love for 19 years, Lynda Lamphier; three daughters, Angela Witham and husband Troy of Oakland, Catherine Watkins of Fairfield, and Sabbatha Hubbard and Will Hubbard of Norridgewock; three sons, Harry Watkins Jr. and wife Christy of Waterville, Christopher Watkins and wife Katie of Fairfield, and Lee Hutchinson and companion Tammy of Norridgewock; brother Philip Watkins Sr. and wife Starena of Chelsea; seven grandchildren, Troy Jr., Haylie, Heavenn, Shawn, Kenikki, Dallas and Trey; one great-granddaughter, Tory; his best friend and bro, Joe Dubay; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Philip and Joan (Snow) Watkins; and first wife, Cheryl Schillings.

Viewing hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, with a funeral service at noon Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the nurses in the ICU at Eastern Maine Medical, especially Marci and Randee for their loving care. God sent Harry two special angels to care for him during his days at the hospital.
