Major Henry Thomas Perry Jr
Norridgewock Resident: Major Henry Thomas Perry Jr., CRNA, 74, passed away June 3, 2019. Born in Waterville ME, October 2, 1944. He grew up in Mercer, ME, attending Riverview Memorial Elementary schoold in Norridgewock, ME. His High School and College years were in Massachusetts. Henry graduated from South Lancaster Academy in 1962, and Atlantic Union College (AUC) in 1967. He taught school in Canaan, MA until November 1968, when he was drafted into service for the Vietnam War. On August 16, 1970, Henry married Renee Ramsay, and the following month, he entered nursing school at AUC, graduating in the class of 1973, and beginning his career at the VA Hospital in Rhode Island. Henry was accepted into Albany Medical School for the anesthesia program in Albany, NY. After completing anesthesia in 1975, Henry had the priviledge of practicing as a CRNA at Thayer hospital, Waterville, ME for 26 years. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 1983, serving with the 1125th US Army Hospital. During his time with the 1125th, he served 2 week tours in Equador and Panama providing medical care. Henry was called up for Desert Storm in January, 1991, serving 6 months in Fort Bragg, NC. Henry practiced anesthesia as a CRNA at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley hospital, Pittsfield, ME from 2002 -June 3, 2019. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norridgewock, serving as a Head Elder. His hobbies included gardening, reading, ham radio (KA1DIV), preparing church sermons, climbing Mt.Katahdin 14 times, making bread, canning, and visiting family and his grandchildren. He was proceed in death by his parents. Henry T. Perry and Eva Mae Blaser. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Perry of Norridgewock, ME. His 2 sons, Charles Perry of Ooltewah, TN: Lt. Col. Colin Perry (Courtney) of Waynesville, OH; and his daughter Melita Palmer (Luther) of Chattanooga, TN. 4 grandchildren, Olivia Perry and Madelyn Perry of Waynesville, OH; Preston Palmer and Julianne Palmer of Chattanooga, TN. His brother Dr. Jesse Perry (Cindy) of Park City, UT.
