

Memorial Home on Water Street in Skowhegan. Just shy of her 96th birthday, she was the last
surviving member of her childhood family which included her parents, Levite and Elizabeth St.
Germain Robichaud, her older sister Carmen Marquis, younger sister Irene Deprey, and baby
brother Harold Robichaud.
As a 17 year-old bride, Lorraine was married for 65 years to Aurel Gagnon who passed in 2004.
Together, they partnered in business, travel, and in raising six precocious children. Born in Eagle
Lake, Maine, Lorraine lived in different parts of the state throughout her life, eventually settling
in Skowhegan where she and Aurel were best known for their jewelry store that bore their name.
Lorraine was a communicant of Notre Dame De Lourdes Catholic Church in Skowhegan as well as
a long serving member of the Daughters of Isabella. She had an interest in sports, attending many Skowhegan football and soccer games, fishing trips with her husband, and becoming an accomplished candlepin bowler on her aptly named team, The Roadrunners.
Lorraine was also predeceased by her daughter, Cora Marley.
She is survived by children, Earl Gagnon and wife Carol, Earlene Morin and husband Ray, Richard Gagnon and wife Linda, Dora Gagnon, and Kenneth Gagnon and wife Deborah; grandchildren, who know her as Nana, Michelle Shamon, Angela Marquis, Jay, Janelle, and John Gagnon, Paula Prescott, Kim Cornforth, Karena Carter, Kelsey, Bethany, and Jenna Gagnon, and Lance and Jamie Charrier; the 11 great grandchildren she was blessed with; numerous nieces and nephews experienced Aunt (ma tante) Lorraine's loving care when visiting; and dozens of other relatives who found the Gagnon home in Skowhegan a welcoming and convenient waystation between Aroostook County and Southern New England.
Lorraine and Aurel's dream home on the Kennebec River in Skowhegan remains in the family, now owned by granddaughter Angie and her husband Duane Marquis.
There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am, August 4, 2017 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water Street, Skowhegan with Rev. Fr. James Nadeau, celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
