Lucille Maryanne Corson

1937-2014

Madison-Lucille Maryanne Corson, 76 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 with family by her side, after a long battle with cancer.

Lucille was born on August 19, 1937 in Skowhegan, the daughter of Archie Grondin and Rosanna (Barrieault) Grondin.

She was educated in the Skowhegan Schools.

Lucille married Richard C. Corson on August 20, 1955 in Skowhegan. He died on July 18, 2006.

She worked at Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan as a stitcher for many years. Then she spent many years as a homemaker.

Lucille enjoyed camping, collecting teddy bears, collecting spoons and she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons: Linwood Corson and his wife Cindy, of Skowhegan, Steven Corson of Madison; one daughter, Judy Corson of Spokane, Washington, one sister, Louise Fariole of Georgia, one brother, Alfred Groder and his wife Mary of Skowhegan, three grandchildren: Timothy Willette, Tabetha Kresge and Brett Corson; three great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Robert Corson and his wife Phyllis, of Madison, one sister-in-law, Gertrude Corson of Madison, several Nieces and Nephews.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Athens.

The family would like to thank the Nurses of Maine General Hospice for their support during a difficult time.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
