Patrick J Fitzmaurice

He was born March 22, 1935 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Frank and Barbara (Chase) Fitzmaurice.

He attended Skowhegan schools and served in the US Navy as a 2nd class aviation machinist mate. He retired early as he contracted polio in Corpus Christi, TX. He served 5 years and retired out on disability.

Patrick married Loretta Clement on May 5, 1956 in Skowhegan and she was in Texas with him when he was sick. When he came home they moved back to Skowhegan in 1960 Patrick and Loretta had two wonderful sons.

Patrick hand sewed shoes in Skowhegan for Norrwock Shoe and he farmed out Shoes from Dexter, Bowdoinham, and Harmony and he enjoyed working with all the guys.

He is survived by his wife Loretta of 60 years of Skowhegan; and his sons, Patrick Fitzmaurice Jr. of Richmond, Shayne F. Fitzmaurice of Skowhegan; his seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lillian, Francis, Dora and Mike; as well as his nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
